My artist Bio
Marie Pelosi’s artistic journey began amidst the serene shorelines of South Jersey, where the gentle whispers of the Atlantic framed her early life. Born in Millville, NJ, Marie was surrounded by a family rich in artistic talent, with her parents and great-grandfather unknowingly planting seeds of creative inspiration. It wasn’t until her late 20s, however, that Marie fully embraced her calling as an artist—a calling profound and spiritual in nature.
She is a proud graduate of the Milan Institute of Art, where she refined her technique through rigorous study and fearless experimentation with mixed media. Marie’s artistic process is a symphony of colors and textures, starting with inks and spray paints, layered with acrylics, enriched by the expressive strokes of oil pastels, and culminating in the vivid depth of oils. Her unique technique combines elements of abstraction and realism, with a color palette deeply influenced by her spiritual inspirations. Marie describes her artistic journey as a spiritual process, stating, “Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, for me, it is a spiritual process,” infusing each piece with a sense of divine beauty.
Influenced by the works of Ellie and Dimetria Milan, Marie has mastered the art of weaving emotional narratives into her paintings. She selects subjects that resonate with beauty and purity, driven by a desire to capture and portray the sublime aspects of everyday life. Her works not only captivate visually but also attest to her commitment to spiritual reflection.
Marie has showcased her creations in acclaimed galleries such as the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Franklin Mint Museum, The Gaps gallery, and the Google Works Art Gallery in Reading, PA. Her art has found its way into the collections of notable figures including Steve Keiser, a real estate investor known for his educational and charitable engagements, and Pastor Mike Truitt, reflecting Marie’s deep faith and community connections.
Among her accolades are a cherished Blue Ribbon from the Charm City Doll Club, recognition for her mural contributions in Reading, PA, and the highest score ever recorded in Gesture at the Jack Johnson Professional Sculpting School, underscoring her technical skill and creative vision. She gained national recognition with a full-color center display in the esteemed “Contemporary Doll Collector” magazine, further establishing her as an artist of note.
In her personal life, Marie intertwines her art with her spiritual beliefs, dedicating time to Bible study and the care of her animals—four donkeys, three pigs, and two dogs—away from the canvas. This connection to nature and spirituality seamlessly informs her creative process and artistic philosophy.
Looking ahead, Marie Pelosi envisions opening her own home gallery, offering an intimate space to share her artwork with the public. She also aims to amplify her digital presence, believing firmly in the transformative power of art in society. Marie’s mission is to connect with audiences and provoke thought and joy through her vibrant and expressive works. With a gentle heart and unyielding passion, she continues to navigate her path, painting the world as she perceives it—through the lens of beauty, faith, and color.
